Haven't blogged for a long time. Alot has gone on. One of the latest happened about two weeks ago. David and I were at Katie and Dan's house tending the girls over night. We got a call from Bret, who was home alone. He was all excited and rambling about someone at the door, hitting him and him(Bret) beating the tar out of them. I guess someone came to the door. Bret opened it and there was a guy there. He said his car had broken down and could he use the phone. When Bret turned to get his phone the guy hit him in the eye. Those of you that know Bret.....Know he has a temper. Well, he came up off the floor swinging. He beat up the guy, his friend from the car came and help him to the car and they drove off. David went home, we had the police there and paramedic's there to check Bret out. Don't know who they were or what they wanted. We are just glad all turned out. Wanted to share Bret's lovely injury.

It was Dan's birthday. He loves peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Katie made him this white cake with peanut butter, butter cream frosting and raspberry filling. Looks just a sandwich but it tastes like a yummy cake. And for me to say it was good and not be chocolate is say something.

Have you ever had one of those great days? Yesterday was certainly one of mine. Katie and the girls surprised us and dropped in with chocolate covered marshmallow eggs in hand. We played out back they took a couple turns on the swing. Bret was washing his and Beau's car. Hailey decided she wanted to help, then Whitney wanted to get into the act. We had a great Valentines day. David and I hit a movie and "Outback" on Friday the 13Th. On Sat. we had all four grand kids. Some one had heart attacked our house that was fun. We bought shirts for all the kids, of course Quinn had to have something a little different. We played then went to Old McDonald's for dinner. We were tired but had so much fun with the kids. We hope our married kids enjoyed their night.

Going to Utah, AGAIN!

Went to Utah to see David's dad, he had hip replacement surgery. Visited with his family. Superbowl Sunday we went to Curt's house. Of course, the women all ended up downstairs playing "Rock Band" we were awesome. Tiffany and her little girl Rickie were there. That is alway nice. David and I were able to go to the open house of the Draper Temple. It was beautiful. We also saw the Day Break Temple from afar. You know you are in Utah when you see that many temples within a few miles of each other.
I was able to go to lunch with some friends from High School. We haven't seen each other since our last reunion, but when we got together it was like we hadn't been apart. I guess that is how it is when you have great friends. The snow was beautiful, only someone from Arizona would probaby say that right now. We love spending time with family. I only wish I could take my kids and grandkids with me every time I go. Oh well. Thanks to mom, dad, Rick, and Mel for letting us crash. We love you guys.

Sleep over x six (Quinn & Noelle)

This is our Week with Quinn and Noelle.

Saturday Jan. 10th, We went to the store and got a present. Quinn got a Ben 10 figure and Noelle got princess make-up. Later Quinn cut a Milk Dud box to fit his figure. How clever. They slept over on Friday the 9th. Of course Grandma was having so much fun she forgot to take pictures.

Noelle takes a nap on the couch. We stayed up late the night before. Sleeping angel.

It was Rick and Mel's last night so we play a quick game of Hand and Foot. None of us could remember how to play. Of course David and I won! Ha! Ha!

Katie brought Twinkies. You can see that both Noelle and Whitney enjoyed them. Me? I just look tired.

Saturday night Hailey came over to play and say goodbye to Rick and Mel. Quinn and Hailey played with Lego's all night. They made some really neat things.

After we picked up Quinn from school we went to see the movie "BOLT". It was so cute. We then went to Red Oven Pizza. The kids didn't want pizza just bread sticks and ice cream. Soooo that's what we gave them. Went home. Quinn was asleep in the car by 6:30 and stayed asleep until 7:30 the next morning. We must be wearing them out.

Tuesday - Having some back yard recreation. Shootin some hoops, swinging on swing, throwing rocks in pool, reading a joke book. Life couldn't get any better that this!

Thursday - Quinn went to school and Noelle to Pre-school. Noelle, Grandpa, Bret and I met Katie, Hailey and Whitney at Mcdonalds. We got our wires crossed and went to different ones. Ha! Ha! Finally met up with them though. We picked up Quinn and played for a while. Did homework. Went to their house to get ready for mom and dad to get home. It was a great week. I do have to say I am glad I had my kids young while I had more energy. Those of you that know me know I can go, go, go, but with age comes slowness. We loved our week. Thanks Quinn and Noelle for being such great kids.

New Years Eve and play "The Lion King"

New Years Eve was great! David and I along with Dan, Katie and girls, my parents and my sister and her husband went to Babbo's for dinner then back to our house. We played cards until midnight then rang in the new year with some Martinelli. We put three of our New Year's Resolutions down on paper and had to guess who's they were. It was pretty funny when my dad (Papa) said he wanted to run a ten yard dash and grow thick, dark hair. We have eaten until we've all gained weight and played with kids and seen alot of movies. My gift to my parents were tickets to the "Lion King" It was awesome. Rick and Mel were able to get tickets last minute way up in the balcony section but worth it according to them. I loved having them all here. We had so much fun. Enjoy the pictures.

Haven't had a lot of time to blog, but here is a slide show of the Holiday. We had a wonderful Christmas. David and I give each person an ormament on Christmas Eve. This year each ornament had a symbol that reminded me of that person. It was cool. Loved having all my kids and grandkids around. Loved all my gifts. How blessed can one person be?

Thanksgiving with family in Utah

Had such a great time with all the family. Beau and Bret were a joy to be around. Wished my married kids and grandkids were there. Visited David's parents, had lunch with my mom and Julie, went to movie with my dad and mom. All the guys went to the Jazz game. The Thanksgiving food was fantastic (thanks to Curt and Julie) one of the highlights would have to be watching David, Bret, Beau and Travis play Rockband. We missed Melanie and her family but knew they were having a blast and also Mark's family. Don't know where we would have put everybody but we sure would have tried. We love you all.

Our Week as the babysitters

Day 1 - Above - Started at 6:30 am while girls were still asleep. It was a down day. We dressed the girls and headed over to grandma's and grandpa's house to play. Whitney fell asleep in the swing out back while Hailey played make believe with the Wizard of Oz characters. Later Hailey found my black boots and decided to parade around the house as me. It was a nice day.

Day 2 - Sunday! Church was at 8:00 am. Wow! that was a chore. Makes me wonder how I did it with my own four kids, let alone twins. We went though. It was great, had all four grand kids to play with during the meeting. Later in the day Quinn and Noelle came over for dinner. All the kids just played together. When we finally went back to Katie's house to sleep it was bath time. Don't they look so cute in the tub?

Day 3 - It was our "Old McDonald's" day according to Hailey. Met Jason and Noelle there for lunch but alas no camera for pictures. Afterwards we played at my house for awhile. The girls decided to check out my closet. I promise it was clean. Whitney sat in the middle of all the shoes as Hailey and Noelle tried them all on.

Day 4 - What a fun day this was. We started it off with a movie. "Madagascar". It was so cute and Hailey loved it. Whitney took a nap during most of it. I packed two peanut butter sandwiches and they both ate them during the last half hour of the movie. We then went to Target (a favorite of the girls) to pick up the DVD of "Barbie Pegasus". I think we only watched it about a 100 times. You can see below, we danced and danced to the music.

Day 5 - Today we had lunch at Olive Garden. Went to the park and slid down all the slides and played in the sand. Guess it is bath time when we get home.

Day 6 - Of course today I forgot my camera. We went to Taco Bell for lunch then to Michael's Craft store. We heard it was one of the girls favorites. Went back to Katie's then off for a walk, by the time we got back Dan and Katie were home. The two girls didn't want their mom or dad and I felt so bad about that... NOT! I loved it!

We had such a wonderful experience we loved every minute of the time we spent with Hailey and Whitney. They were so good to tend. Thanks Katie and Dan.

THANKSGIVING

Since it is November and Thanksgiving is right around the corner I thought I would just blog my thankful list for all to read. Some of the things I am thankful for are very important like my husband, four wonderful children, two great in laws and four fantastic grand kids. Health, boy I am thankful for good health well at least mine and I am thankful that David is still with me. He is the rock of my world, my soul mate, my best friend, someone who understands me, someone who loves me no matter what I do or say. My eternal companion.
Parents, great ones at that. They taught me well and have stood by me through thick and thin and still are. Two awesome brothers both smart and handsome. My sister, best friend, confidant, my twin (okay were two years apart), my fix. Extended family I love them all. I have many friends but of all, my husband, sister, and daughter have been true blue always there and I am thankful. Religion, country, Freedom but most of all my Savior Jesus Christ after all where would I be without him?

I have a list of not so important things I am thankful for like exercising I do love it! I know, I must be weird. My cat especially when she rubs up against my leg. Pushing the grand kids on the swing and listening to them laugh, watching my twins at age twenty still sit side by side on the couch in front of the TV when no one else is in the room and there is another couch and two chairs but they have to be glued together . Watching my oldest son bathe his kids. Playing guitar hero. Yes I am hooked. Fridays because they are our date days, which usually consists of lunch and a movie. My house, clothing, cars and as shallow as it is - my jewelry. Don't judge me to harshly. Taking a long hot bath. Even in Arizona we like hot baths although most of the time we could do it in our pools. Music, the Holidays, Jr. Mints. My lists could go on and on but you know that. My cup is half full not half empty and I am thankful.

Another Wonderful Birthday Gift

For my birthday Mel and Rick gave me hotel and tickets to "Les Mis'erables" in St George at the Tuahcan theatre. Dave and I got a hotel in Vegas two days before and we met there. We ate alot and walked through a few casinos (no we did not gamble) we did hit a magic show though and that was great.

Took a tour of Jacob Hamblins home. He was one of the early pioneers in the St. George Valley. He was called a vagabond by his wife because he was always away working with the Indians. Making sure there was peace in the valley.

My Birthday Festivities

For my Birthday Dave took me out for Breakfast and then to a movie, we then went shopping ( of coarse) and spent the day enjoying one anothers company. Little did I know my birthday fun was not over yet! David, Dan, Katie, Bret, and Beau all had kept a very good secret....I had a surprise dinner planned for me. Bret and Beau babysat Katie's kids so that the 4 of us could go out. My gift from Dan and Katie was a nice dinner at a fancy restaraunt. We went to Capital Grille in Scottsdale and enjoyed good food, yummy dessert, and making memories with family members. It was all so much fun. My birthday didn't end there either! We celebrated as a family on Sunday with all of the kids and grandkids. All 3 boys went in on a beautiful gift, a gold necklace with all of my kids birthstones on it. It's so pretty, I can't wait to wear it! We ate dinner and then had cake and ice cream...it was such a treat to have such a fun birthday. Thanks everyone for your wonderful birthday wishes!

Latest AILMENT...no surprise...it's David

So here are just a few pictures from our latest hospital stay. Exciting huh? I found David on the kitchen floor drenched in sweat. At first I wondered if it was another heart attack....or maybe a sugar low, who know's with him! I took him to the ER to be checked out and they put him in a room. After many doctors and many tests they found a bleeding ulcer, so David was simply BLEEDING TO DEATH without us knowing it! After the diagnosis, new medications, a few days, and 4 blood transfusions....he was able to come home. We are so glad he'll be ok. It will take him awhile to get his blood count back to where it should be, and for him to get his energy back, but that's much better than the alternative. My sister Mel and her husband Rick came down from Utah to help out and keep me company, I had foot surgery a month ago and at the time...was still having a little bit of trouble getting around. I loved spending time with my sister....I wish she lived closer. We are blessed to all be back at home and on the right track with our health....for now! We'll keep you posted on all of our wonderful happenings!
